Message Board Post:

Tim James Jorgensen, 49, was reunited with his father and mother Thursday, July 21, 2005, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Tim was born Jan. 27, 1956, in Butte, Mont., to Marvin and Norean Jorgensen. He moved to Smithfield three years later and remained there until his death. He served in the U.S. Army during peace time and was honorably discharged. Tim is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

One June 1, 1979, Tim married Lisa Fuhriman, in Wellsville, Utah. Their children are Tyrell James and Lacey Kay all of Smithfield. They were divorced in 2000.

Tim married Tamie Wardle, his junior high school sweetheart, Feb. 14, 2001, in West Yellowstone. Tim and Tamie will be sealed in the Vernal Temple. Tim inherited several more children: Staci and Greg Heminway of Rancho Cordova, Calif., Alisa of California and Walter of Escobar, Korea, and Camron Walton, Sheldon Wardwell and Stephine Wardwell, all of Smithfield, plus grandchildren Cassie and Jacob Heminway. As a family and a couple, Tim loved travel and adventure. The week before his passing Tim traveled to the High Uintahs for a family reunion. As a couple we planned to retire on the mountain with a bed and breakfast and establish a fire department in Dutch John.

Tim worked for Logan city in the parks department from 1974 to 1979 when he went to work for North Logan City as a heavy equipment operator. Continuing his education, he headed the Streets Department and became building inspector of North Logan City. In 1992 Tim was appointed fire chief of the North Logan City Fire and Rescue. Tim's passion for the fire department was endless. Being the "Fire Chief" was just who he was. His devotion, and possibly his first love, was to his volunteers, their education and together their commitment to have a safe community and serve the public. Tim always felt a deep appreciation to the Smithfield Fire and Rescue Department for their support in establishing North Logan Fire and Rescue. Tim always told of his appreciation for early North Logan City mayors and Chief Paul Lamont. Without them, he said, "there would be no North Logan Fire and Rescue." Tim praised his volunteers. "Heroes" he would call them.

Family and friends may call on Tim from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2005, at Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420 E. 1800 North, North Logan, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at the Smithfield 12th Ward chapel, 179 N. 100 East, Smithfield. Graveside service and burial will be in the Maser-Fairview Cemetery in Vernal, Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Cranney Mortuary.

Tim's family would gratefully like to thank Dr. LaGrand Belnap for his endless hours of sacrifice to his patients and to Tim and our family. To Dr. Klemmer, Dr. Pearl and Dr.Virnig for the love, compassion and support of end of life care. To the nursing team at LDS Hospital 6-West for endless hours of love and care. To the nursing team at Logan Regional Hospital 3 medical for hours of love and care. The team at Ramada Limited for your love support and hard work over the last year, you always step up to the plate. To John at Allen Cranney Mortuary and Kristine at Kristine's Floral you are part of the family now! To Jon Keller, North Logan Fire and Rescue fire chief, and North Logan Fire and Rescue volunteers. To our family, Smithfield 12th Ward, for endless hours of love, food and friendship. To Bishop Staheli, Sharon Roberts, my sisters and brother and your families. Mom, thank you for your deep love and support in the last year
