I've used zip disks to back up family treemaker without problem, simply
by using the backup feature. But there is another way to do it; just use
My Computer to go into the folder labeled FTW, and find the file that you
want to back up. Use the right-hand mouse button to highlight the file
and copy it. Go back into My Computer, and click on your zip drive to
access it. Paste your file on to the zip disk. If your computer crashes,
just reinstall family treemaker and copy and paste your files from the
zip into the folder labeled FTW. If you can't do this with your zip
drive, then you may not have the driver software for the zip drive
properly installed. This software was provded on a zip disk when you
purchased the drive, and you should still have it if you haven't recorded
over it.
