Hello,
I am also new to the list. This is what I have on 3 Samuel Rhodes and some
of their descendants. This is from my late husbands line. His mother was a
Rhodes.


I am related to the Casto's, a descendant of Elmore H. Casto and Phoebe
CUNNINGHAM.

Samuel Rhodes, born 1792 Maryland, died in Mason County, WV. He married
Jane (??), born 1800, died Mason County, WV.
I have 8 children listed for them:

1. David H. Rhodes, born 1824 Virginia, married Samantha, born 1825. They
lived in Mason County, WV. and had 5 known children.
Their first child was Samuel, born Feb. 1849 in Mason County, (W)VA. Died
1939 in Putnam County, WV. Samuel was married to Druzilla C. Lemasters,
January 26, 1870 in Mason County, WV. Samuel & Druzilla were the parents
of 9 children. One of their sons lived in the Grass Lick area of Jackson
County and their daughter Nancy lived at Evans in Jackson County. She was
married twice. The first time to her first cousin, George Luther Rhodes,
the second time to Early Casto.

2. Samuel Rhodes, born 1827 Virginia, married Margaret (??), born 1832
Indiana.

3. John Rhodes, born 1828 Virginia, married Delilah (??), born 1828.

4. Mary Rhodes, born 1829.

5. Priscilla Rhodes, born 1832.

6. Wilson Rhodes, born 1836.

7. Benjamin "Uncle Ben" Rhodes, born 1834, died 1946. Lived to be 112 yrs.
of age. His niece Lora says after he reached the age of 108, every time you
asked him how old he was he always said 108. *Lora was my mother-in-law.
She passed away in 1989. Ben married Lucretia Lemasters. Lucretia and
Druzilla were sisters.

9. William Lee Rhodes, born 1840.

I have Zachariah Rhodes as the father of Samuel. He also died in Mason
County.

I would appreciate any corrections or updates.
