Tr. is for trustee, as the previous post explained. This usually involved
two parties and a trustee for both of them. Typically this sort of
transaction involves a debt from one party to the other, with land (sometimes
personal property) used to secure the debt. In case of default on the note,
the trustee was empowered to sell the property to satisfy the debt.

B &S is bill of sale. You may also encounter "et als" in the index which
means "and others" who will be named in the actual deed. That is a good clue
when a group of people are selling property as it may (but necessarily) mean
a relationship of some sort among the parties, which is often explained
directly or indirectly in the deed.
