Without knowing more facts such as residences, ages, service records, and whether or not any pensions were granted, I can only say that your entries reveal service in the Continental Line, however that service was inadequate for some yet undiscovered reason for him to earn land rights. I would almost bet that those are service records for the same man.
I would surely check NARA (Form NATF-85 on the net at NARA) for any record of his service in both the 10th and 15th VA, always remembering that those units may have originally been VA Militia, later merged into the "Line." That possibility also might render it appropriate for you to check at VA Archives for rosters of those 2 military units.
The fact that he quit in 1778, when the war had not yet reached the South, may reveal something as to his eligibility for veterans' rights - land, pensions, etc. Again, NATF-85 should reveal such records of that man as yet exist.
Good luck. Paul

Subject: [VA-SOUTHSIDE-L] RW service requirements for land? BROCK surname
Ok, here I am again for more guidance. The unsubstantiated story in my
husband's BROCK line is that 2 BROCK brothers left VA after "the War" because
when they came home after fighting, their lands had been sold for taxes.
Supposedly one brother went to N. GA, and the other to South GA. We always
supposed that "the War" was the Civil War, but the BROCKS were in place in GA
by at least 1840, so if the story is true, it's a different war.
Having never been able to find tax lists of forfeited land, I did today,
however, find a John BROCK who served in the RW, but who, when he apparently
applied for land, was refused. Can anyone tell me more about the entries
below? Suggestions on how to get more info? I don't even know if these are
the same man, but it's the most promising lead I have found! Thanks, Zou
Feagin
