I'll be traveling to Amherst soon to do some family research. I'd like input on 2 things.
What would be the best way to identify (locate) property my gggrandfather owned and lived on in the period 1840-1850?
My ggrandaunt was the wife of W.A. Baldock, who owned and operated the Amherst Mill ca 1920s. My mother remembers visiting their home often, and swimming in the "creek, by the mill" which she says was in their backyard. Does anyone know of this home? I think I can find the mill easily enough, but is there still a "house" adjacent?
