Nedra: Robert who married Elizabeth Bolling was not a son of Joseph. He was probably a brother. Joseph's son Robert, called Robin, the one who inherited the land from this Joseph, married Betsy Campbell and left a will in Nelson Co VA. If you'd like a copy of it, I can send it to you. My husband is descended from Robert who married Elizabeth Bolling, from a second wife Susannah Wade. Joseph and Sarah Mays son James did not marry Mary and die in Bedford. He married an Isabella and died in Nelson Co. I have a copy of his inventory, and the inventory of his wife Isabella. I think James of Bedford is connected to the Amherst Mays, but he is not a son of Joseph. There are a lot of records in Nelson Co that substantiate where Joseph's children were. James of Bedford may have been another brother, or a cousin. Please contact me. I'd love to share my information!
