The Lynchburg Virginian (Lynchburg, Virginia) October 12, 1846

Trust Sale of 3 Tracts of Land. - By virtue of a deed of trust, executed to
EDMOND WINSTON and ALEXANDER TOMPKINS, trustees, by RICHARD S ELLIS and
EMILY his wife, for certain purposes therein mentioned, bearing date 28th
July, 1828, which deed is duly recorded in clerk's office of the county
court of Amherst, I shall proceed to sell, by way of public auction, to the
highest bidder, for cash, at Pedlar Mills, in the county of Amherst, on the
5th day of November, 1846 - 3 Tracts of Land, in said deed mentioned, viz:
One Tract, containg 325 acres, more or less, on the north side of Pedlar
River, adjoining Pedlar Mills, being the same tract purchased by R. S. ELLIS
of JOSIAH ELLIS.
One other Tract, containing 434 acres, more or less, situated on Pedlar
River, being the same tract purchased by R. S. ELLIS of RICHARD MILLNER.
One other Tract, commonly called Wincanton tract, containing 100 acres, more
or less.
The title to the above land is believed to be undoubted, but, acting as
trustee, I will convey such title as is vested in me by the said deed of
trust.
Possession given immediatly. - ALEXANDER TOMPKINS, Trustee.
