A T,

I started the email and sent it before I finished. I always change the it
and was in the process of doing that when I hit the send button. Here is what I
was going to ask. Do you have anythng on the Lavenders. Allen Lavender
married Elizabeth Stratton Blair. She had married James Stratton first. I know
Allen had five daughters and one son. So far I three of the duaghters and his
son James. My Belsora Lavender who married Jospeh Carter was his
daughter.Allen's father was William Lavender who married Sarah Stratton. Elizabeth Blair
Lavender's parents were Allen Blair who married Mary Ann Staples. Allen Blair's
father was William who married Mary Allen. Mary Ann Staples father was
Samuel who married Sarah ? Staton.

I can't find most of the descendents because I am working form the 1700's on
up. My Indian heritage is in one or more of these names. It could still be
from the Carter's that no one has ever heard of. I thought when I knew some of
the names I could solve the mystery, but it is still unsolved. I was hoping
the new book would be of help, but I don't see any of them in it.

I realize I have already posted about them but decided to ask you since you
are connected to the Lavender through Segas. I believe Segas was the daughter
of Allen's father William & Sarah Stratton.

Allen Lavender's daughter Eliza Jane married John Allcock and moved to Mo. I
believe Allen's son James also moved to Mo.

Allen's daughter Mary Ann married Micajah Davidson. They stayed in Amherst.
Allen and Bets (Elizabeth) were living with them in the 1850 census.

I am grateful to those who have helped over the past twelve years. I still
need to see the 1833 marriage register for Amherst County. It may have Joseph
Carter's parents listed. It has been almost seven years since they took it to
be rebound. How long does it take?

Did anyone ever copy the Lavender or Carter marriages from that book? There
is an old marriage cd that has Joseph Carter & Sally Lavender m 1-14-1833. Of
course it did not list the parents. The marriage bond has Belsora Lavender.
In every census Joseph and Belsora were listed as being born in Va. Belsora
went by Elizabeth-Sarah-Sally and in 1870 Botetourt she was listed as Belzona.
Joseph died between 1860 and 1870. They were in Rockbridge and Botetourt in
the 1860 census. It seem like anyone from Amherst who moved to Botetourt are
very hard to research.

I am still trying to find parents and siblings of Angeline Crawford who
married Ansalem Clements in Amherst 3-24-1832. On the marriage bond, James
Crawford was the surety. Ansalem's daughter Sarah Elizabeth Clements married
Tilghman P Stinnett. I have some Clements info but nothing on the Crawford's.Can
anyone help with them?

Thanks for listening.

Jackie
