I am descended from George McDaniel (of Scotland) down to Jesse McDaniel of Bedford County, VA in the 1800s. One of Jesse's granddaughters had the name Walton as a middle name. No one has every been able to tell me where it came from. I was interested to see the message board connecting McDaniel and Walton. Jesse's daughter Ida McDaniel married Walter Tucker in 1888 and they had 14 children in Bedford. Many of the descendants still live in the Roanoke area but my mother's mother Nell Tucker and her husband Hillry Garrett came to Chesapeake in the late 1920s to find work.
