Tracy,
So far I haven't found a Clary connection but please understand my
research has just now taken me to Brunswick County, therefore I am still
gathering info. What I do know is that David Kelly married to Lucy
Wesson abt 1760. I think this is the same David Kelly found in Dr.
Stephen Bradley's book, "Brunswick County Virginia Will Books, Vol 3,
Will Book 5 1780-1795. page 46, # 168. There are listed sons, Jesse,
Henry, David, Robert and Isaac. I know nothing further of any of the
sons except Jesse, who is my 4th great grandfather. He married Patty
Phillips and had sons and daughters not all of which I know yet. I have
not run across a Lucy Kelly yet but have much more gathering to do. I
have read online in John Pritchett's website www. Virginians.com his or
his father's interpretation on Giles Kelly who was living in Brunswick
county also. I am sure there was a connection but I am not so sure it
is the one that Dr. Pritchett has surmised. The Wessons and the Kelly's
were witnesses for each other on many different things over the years. I
just have not put it all together yet. I am heading up to Raleigh, NC
next week and hope to get up to Henderson NC where I have made many
connections to one of Jesse and Patty Phillips Kelly's son's also named
Jesse Kelly, born 1801 died 1867. Maybe I will have time to get up to
Brunswick County also on this trip. Is the library there in
Lawrenceville a good place to start. I am not familiar with the area so
I am not sure what resources there are available. Any clues?

Hi Sherryll,
Am I ever interested in those names you tossed out, KELLY & WESSON. My
GGgrandfather, Thomas C. Clary is buried right there in the area you are
speaking
of. For many years most of the CLARY researchers thought his wife was
Lucy
Wesson, but it has recently come to light that his wife was in fact Lucy
KELLY.
She is buried there with him in a small family cemetery. This Lucy
Kelly
would have been born c 1818. Does any of this correspond with anything
you
have??
