I am researching the RISDON surname and am interested in hearing from anyone
in Alexandria who is also searching this surname. My gr-gr grandfather
William Joseph Risdon, was born 3/3/1831 in Prince George's Co. MD and in
1851 married Mary Kirby in Warrenton, VA. They had their first two
children, FRANKLIN PIERCE RISDON (born 1852) and WILLIAM JOSEPH RISDON (born
Feb. 17, 1854) in Alexandria, VA. Franklin married MAGGIE M. RICHARDSON,
daughter of John W. and Elizabeth M. Richardson on 8/15/1872 in Alexandria.
They had their first and only child, William Franklin Risdon in
Alexandria,11/6/1875. Maggie died in 1876 and is buried with her parents at
St. Pauls Episcopal Church Cemetery, Alexandria. Does anyone have any info
re the Risdon or Richardson family?
