I would like to alert everyone on the Alexandria mailing list to an
Alexandria genealogy board on Genealogy Exchange
(http://www.genexchange.com/VA/alexandria/index.cfm).

I happen to be the administrator of the board, having taken it over at
the end of October. It contains databases for local research resources
and raw data. However, because it is new, there is very little
information in it so far.

I am begging all of you who are doing Alexandria-related research to take
a few moments to put your findings (births, deaths, marriages, deeds,
etc.) on this board. I am hoping that, together, we can build this into
a useful tool. If you add info, it wil give others who are researching
the same lines the opportunity to find you and contribute still more
data.

The databases are pretty self-explanatory, but please contact me if you
have any questions.

This is not a partisan appeal; I like the Rootsweb/GenWeb boards and
GenForum, etc. Unfortunately, despite my requests, Rootsweb has not yet
set up an Alexandria board (Alexandria is included under the Fairfax
County board, but Alexandria has not been a part of Fairfax for about 200
years). GenForum allows queries, but arranges things geographically only
at the state level.

Thank you,

Tim Dennee
