I am researching the family of Gilbert Simpson and Margarette A ? who were
married in either Alexandria or Washington about 1829. They lived in
Alexandria and had 12 children. Gilbert was a butter huckster in the
Alexandria markets for many years and at various times ran a grocery
business. No records of their marriage can be found.

It is thought that Margarette A may have been a Lyles. Can anyone confirm
that please?

I am also researching the family of William Stonnell (b. 1803) and
Elizabeth ? William was born in Prince William County, married Elizabeth
about 1833. Again no record of their marriage can be found. William appears
on the 1850 Prince William Census as a farmer. He worked at Mt Vernon as an
overseer between 1850-53. Elizabeth died before 1859 and he married
Margaret Rebecca Lovejoy and is recorded in the 1860 Census in Alexandria.
Does anyone know who Elizabeth was? Can anyone give me more information on
Margaret Rebecca Lovejoy? Does anyone know where I might be able to get
more information about William's time at Mt Vernon?

I am also interested in any information about Brawners in Alexandria. There
were none in the 1850 Census (just one Bronough), but quite a few lived in
Alexandria and Washington DC from 1860 onwards.

Information about the family of Joseph Warder Reynolds and Anna Maria
Stonnell would also be good. He worked for the Orange-Manassas-Alexandria
Railroad during the Civil War and beyond. Is there anywhere I can go to
find out more about his service there? The actual Railroad does not keep
those kind of records.

Thanks
