Hi Everybody,
I have been trying to locate some information on my great uncle who
lived in Alexandria in the 20,s & 30's & 40's & 50's for some time but I
have not had much look. One of the main things I would like to get is a
newspaper obit but I did not even have date of death. I have just
recently located date of death and as I am not from that area and cannot
travel there right now could anyone direct me to a library or anyplace
else in your area that might could help me either by email or regular
mail. If so I would appreciate it. I have also been told by relatives he
worked for the railroad. I contacted the railroad retirement board in
Virginia and they told me they have no record of him. Also the SS death
index does not list him and the SSA could find no listing either. One
last question is whether or not State of Virginia would sell me a non
certified copy of death certificate as I am a nephew.
