Randy,

I don't recognize either of these names, but there were Garretts in the
western area of Charlotte County between Phenix and Patrick Henry's Red
Hill. To quote from Charlotte County. . .Rich Indeed: On March 5, 1832,
William Garrett sold John Elam, William Elmore, Thomas H. Spencer, Edward
W[inston] Henry, David H. Morton, Samuel H. Moses, William Talley, and
Thomas Palmer . . . one square acre of land surrounded all sides of said
Garretts land . . . " This was the land for Mt. Carmel Church (on Route
672 - Mt. Carmel Rd.). John Elam, who also built my house, Westview, in
1832, had some other business and land dealings with the Garretts. There
are no Garretts in this area today, but I don't know what happened to them.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Kathy
