I am afraid I cannot help you with your main questions, but I was interested
in your e-mail because Mary Q. Morton, said to be a daughter of Quinn Morton,
was the second wife of my ancestor, Henry Madison, who died 1867 (the 3rd of
that name in a straight line, but called "Jr" in the Charlotte County records).
They married in 1829. His first wife was Elizabeth Greene White, who was
the mother of two daughters and one son. I have not researched Mary Q. Morton,
so I'm sorry to say that I cannot tell you more about her. The Sarah "Sally"
Madison who married Robert Venable was a daughter of Henry Madison II/Sr. (d.
1811) of Charlotte County, and his wife Martha White, and therefore a sister
to the Henry Madison who married Elizabeth Greene White and then Mary Q. Morton.
My older son graduated from VMI in 2001, and my daughter lives in Lexington.
It's a lovely little town, and we always enjoy our visits there.
