Hi Everyone!

Well, I have been overwhelmed by support from so many of you! Thank you to
Margaret, Tracy, Chrissy, Pat, Barbara in Fla., Barbara in Colo., Jean,
Joyce, Delilah, Cynthia, Betty, Lian, Sherry, Chris, Jackie, Ron, Edith,
Mary, Donna, Bud and I hope that I haven't missed anyone! Thank you one and
all for your words and encouragement, the majority rules!

here are some items from the PERSONAL & BRIEFS:

The ladies of Clopton-Street Baptist church gave a most delightful lawn
party in the church-yard last night.

Mr. Andrew L. Snellings, of Boydton, who has been visiting his mother in
this city, has returned home accompanied by Miss Roy Johnson.

Mrs. Cappie Curry will leave to-day to visit friends in Roanoke.

Quite a large crowd attended the lawn-party in the church-yard of
Clopton-Street Baptist church last night.The lawn party will be continued
to-night at the same place, and there will be music and refreshments.[ Wonder
why they mentioned the 2 items on this lawn party seperately?]

MR. COTTRELL DEAD.

Mr. Milton S. Cottrell, a well-known citizen of Amelia county, died
yesterday. The remains were brought here to-day and interred in Oakwood
Cemetery. [ Of course, he is my ancestor as I mentioned before.]

MISS RAGLAND WILL SING

Miss Gay Ragland will sing the offertory at the Second Baptist church Sunday.
There will be no service at night.

BEAUTIFUL LOCKET.

Mr. Charles Straus, of Stern & Co., of No. 2313 East Main Street, has found a
beautiful locket, with a picture on the inside. The inscription on the locket
is E. B. P. The same can be gotton by applying to Mr. Straus.

MR. M'ADAMS BETTER.

Mr. McAdams, who is seriously ill at his residence on West Franklin Street,
is somewhat better to-day.

DEATH OF MR. JAMES B. VAUGHAN.

He Passed Away Early This Morning - Other Deaths - Funerals.

Mr. James B. Vaughan died at ten minutes past midnight at his home, No. 518
Denny street, in the 36th year of his age. Mr. Vaughan had been hopelessly
ill for several months. he leaves a wife and two children. For a long time,
the deceased had been a department foreman at the Richmond Cedar-Works. the
funeral will take place at 4 o'clock to-morrow afternoon from the Third
Presbyterian church.
MR. CHARLES W. ARNALL.

Mr. Charles W. Arnall died yesterday at his home, No. 829 north
Twenty-seventh street. the funeral will take place from the residence at 5:30
o'clock P. M. to-day. The interment will be made in Oakwood. Mr. Arnall was
slightly more than 40 years of age. he had been a boss tinner at the
Chesapeake and Ohio shops for about twenty years. he is survived by a wife,
but leaves no children.
MRS. FANNIE GILLILARD.

Mrs. Fannie Gillilard, an inmate of theHome of the Little Sisters of the
Poor, No. 16 Harvie street, died yesterday afternoon. the funeral will take
place from the chapel of the home to-morrow afternoon.

MR. CHARLES L. BRUCE.

Mr. Charles L. Bruce died last night at the residence of his sister, Mrs.
George K. Harper, No. 609 north Tenth street. The funeral will take place
from the above residence at 10 o'clock to-morrow morning. Mr. Bruce had for
many years been well-known in business in Richmond. He was engaged in the
manufacture of soap.
FUNERALS.

The funeral of Mrs. Alma Seward, of Norfolk, but formerly of this city, will
take place at Shockoe Hill cemetery this morning. The remains will arrive at
8:40 from Essex county, where mrs. seward died at the residence of her
parents. the funeral will occur as soon after as possible. Mrs. Seward was
about 26 years of age. She was the daughter of Mr. John E. Parish and the
late Mrs. R. E. Parish. she was well-known here, but of late has resided in
Norfolk.
Mrs. Annie H. Granger, wife of Mr. George T. Granger, of this city, died
very suddenly yesterday in Newport News, where she was on a visit to her son.
the remains will be brought here for interment, but the arrangements for the
funeral have not yet been made. Mrs. Granger is survived by one brother and
one sister, Mr. Albert Rees and Mrs. Cecelia Brannan, she leaves two sons-
Mr. George Granger, of Newport News, and Mr. Charles Granger of this city.

The remains of Mrs. Anna Maria Stagg, whose death in Elizabeth City county
on Friday, was announced in the Dispatch, were brought to this city yesterday
morning and interred in Hollywood Cemetery. The services were conducted at
the grave by Rev. W. Meade Clarke, assisted by Rev. Mr. Abbitt. A casket
containing the remains of Willie Anne Stagg was deposited in the same grave.
Willie died in Hanover county in 1894 of brain fever, and was 6 years old.

Oh, the above James B. Vaughan, son of my James B. & Delia S. Vaughan, was b.
May 1863, Chest. Co., he md. to Hattie Blankenship, April 18, 1886,
Manchester, they had 2 sons, Archie & Herbert.
