Subject: [VACHESTE] death records after 1930

A few years ago, I called about the death record of my aunt, who died in
1945. I was told that unless the person has been dead for 50 years or more, only
a parent or child can request the birth record. If the parents are dead and
there are no living children, a sibling can request the record. If all
siblings are dead, a blood relative can request the record, but you have to show
proof of your relationship to the person. If the person has been dead for longer
than 50 years, you can get the record by just filling out a request and
sending the required amount of money. When requesting a death record, give as much
information about the person as you can (complete birth and death date, name
of parents) -- it will increase your chances of getting what the information
you need. Go to http://www.vitalrec.com/va.html
