Hi, All.

Does anyone have any answers to the following questions?:

1. How long was the period of indenturement, generally?
2. Was there a time length specified in a prior agreement, or did it depend
on the whim of the person (land-owner) paying the passage?
3. Did it depend on how many family members were brought over?
4. If a person brought his wife, and/or children, did they ALL have to work
out a period of indenturement?
5. Are there any records dealing with this practice; i.e., ships logs,
indenturement agreements, court records, etc.? Were there any written
agreements?
6. What happened when the period of indenture was over?
7. What were the approximate years in which this took place?
