Hi List-
I'm new to this list ( I just subscribed) but I did so to see if anyone
would have any suggestions on how to get to a couple of cemteries. See, I've
only heard about them through my grandmother and she can't remember how to
get to them. One of the cemeteries is New Providence Church near Fairfield
(she thinks). The other one is located in Culpeper county, Masonic Cemetery.
I believe it is still a functioning cemetery because her sister was just
buried there a couple of years ago. I looked on-line at some places, but
they seem to be unlisted. I did find one site that said the Masonic Cemtery
was in Culpeper East but I can't locate that on any map that I own.
Also, does anyone have any ideas about how I might find out where a
person is buried within the cemetery? Otherwise I will be wandering around
for hours in search of their graves (assuming, that is, that I am able to
find the cemetery in the first place) This is all very last minute for me,
because I will be driving through Virginia next week on my way to
Mississippi. I don't know when I will have another chance to look at the
cemeteries, so I was hoping that I would be able to do the rubbings on my way
through. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Elizabeth

P.S. For anyone who is interested; I am researching the Wiseman's, Potter's,
Lucas's and Swortzel's of Virginia. The Wiseman's only lived in Culpeper for
a generation or so (my grandmother and her parents) and owned a farm.
