Can anyone identify Benjamin WELLS?

James Wells notes: "Great Uncle Tom, son of Daniel, told me last spring
that his grandfather Benjamin Wells came from Culpepper Co., VA about
1815 originally from Maryland. To Franklin Co., TN thence to Georgia to
secure his bounty grant. Remained there short time and returned to
Tennessee. Judging by the birth of he children he evidently returned to
Tennessee selling or exchanging his land for land in Tennessee. His
children were Daniel, Tom, Andrew, Sallie, Jackson, Byrd and Benjamin.
Andrews and Jackson went to Dade Co., GA. I visited some of their
descendants last year who stated as fact that Benjamin Wells was the
father of above children. Since Uncle Tom was not certain and to prove
further facts some of the descendants of Daniel Wells of Franklin Co., TN
living in Decatur, AL stated that Benjamin Wells was Daniel's father,
coming from Virginia. For further data see letter from clerk of court
of Culpepper Co., VA. One daughter married Mr. Singleton and the other
married Mr. Hays." Mr. Jim Willis wrote the above must have been dated
many years ago probably 1931 or 32.
