If you will look far enough back on people leaving Va to Ky. lots of them
came that
were our Ky. Baptist and other Religions that were having a hard time in Va.
either church reasons (early) but around 1810 lots came because their land
was
worn out from raising tobacco in Va. Some freed their slaves or part of them
then
came to Ky. to take up new land.
I have Fosters that came to Ky. abt 1785 that were early Baptist. from Va.
I have Wallace from Va to Ky. were Presbyterian early Lexington Ky.
I have Smiths, Grays and Stewarts from Va to Tn. that helped start the
Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Tn. broke from regular Presbyterian over
believing church
should have missionaries and revivals.
Looking for Isaac Smith info from Culpeper Co. Va. d/ in Wilson Cnty Tn 1804.
