As I continue to gather BOWEN data in PA, I keep running into Spicers and
because there are a few folks on this list researching that surname, I will
ost 'em as I find 'em! Here is one I found:

1850 PA Census, Bedford County, St. Clair Township, Roll 751, Page 176,
Dwelling 236, Family 237:
Henry ??(MI illegible) Bowen, 44, M, Miller, b. PA
Mary or May A. Bowen, 36, F, b. PA
Rebeca I. or T. Spicer, 8, F, b. PA
Henry A. Spicer, 5, M, b. PA
John N. McCreary, 23, M, Miller, b. PA
Julian or Julia Walters, 19, F, b. PA

Surname of prior household is Blackburn (near some other Bowens in this
area) and the surname in the household that follows is Emench (poss.
Emerich, but really looks like Emench!)
