During a recent visit in the Culpeper area, we found in Virginia Slave-Trade
Statistics 1698-1775 an article, "Vessels With Slaves 1727-1769" Among those
listed was William HAYNES (Master), the schooner Fanny, registered Virginia
12 Dec 1752, Thomas Walke, Va. (Owner), 8 Negroes, from Antigua, Hampton
(Port of Entry). bond given Antigua 31 May 1754.

I have searched for immigration records, including ships, etc., but can find
no reference to this ship, the Fanny.

Am wondering if this William HAYNES has any connection to Jasper HAYNES, who
died 1782 in Culpeper Co. Our family (we are white) records reference slaves
in the household in early Censuses in the 1800s, then Negroes later on...we
suspect these were freed persons who stayed with the larger family.
