My husband's Gaunt/Corbin line is connected with Culpeper Co., VA Johnsons. Here's the information that I have:

My husband's great grandmother was EMILY FRANCES JOHNSON (1825, Culpeper Co., VA -- 1866, Greene Co., Ohio). She married WILLIAM ANDREW GAUNT (1822, Culpeper Co., VA -- 1904, MS) in 1845, Rappahannock Co., VA.

EMILY'S parents were; WILLIAM MARSHAL JOHNSON (abt 1796, Culpeper Co., VA -- 1848, Rappahannock Co., VA) and MARY JENNINGS (abt 1800, Culpeper Co., VA -- ?). I was given information that they had at least three daughters;
#1- EMILY FRANCES
#2- PENELOPE who married DANIEL UPDIKE in 1850
#3- HARRIET who married BENJAMIN HOUGHTON in 1834

The parents of WILLIAM MARSHAL JOHNSON are reported to be DAVID JOHNSON & SARAH unknown surname.

1810 Culpeper Co., VA Federal Census shows David Johnson with 12 members

I haven't verified all of this information.
