Cabell deed book 1 page 177 William BALL of Culpeper ,County,Va. set free certain slaves indicating that some of theses slaves went to Cabell,County or some of Williams children,stating that all men are free by nature and a dear conviction of the injustice and the criminality of depriving my fellow creatures of the natural right of liberty,do hearby emancup[ate and set free _ certain slaves only desire for the care of the young ones until they are of age,etc.
