While we are at this business of genealogy we have an excellent opportunity
to improve our use of the English language. One of the common errors observed
deals with the use of "who" and "that."

Test-

When one is referring to a person the correct expression is which of the
following?

Mary, daughter of Hugh JONES, THAT married Thomas HICKS was mother of three
children.

or

Mary, daughter of Hugh JONES, WHO married Thomas HICKS was mother of three
children.

If you don't know, it is the latter.

Best,
Hugh
