Subject: Question about Homes of the 1700's
Date: Sat, 1 May 2004 11:14:18 EDT
Hello
Could someone please give me some sort of an idea about the architechture
around Old Rag Mountain abt 1750-1780?
I have an ancestor that sold his property,"Bradley's Plantation" to the
Thortons I believe.
Would the homes have been frame with clapboard siding? Log with Clapboard
siding?
The father in the family and probably all of the sons were expert Noggers.
It's the family of Lawrence Bradley.
Also, what was the main crops grwn at this time? Tobacco? Wheat? Both? I'd
like to know....
