I found a John Chapmen listed...Either a William Stanton or Thomas Stanton
had debts to be paid to a John Chapmen in 1748 this was briefly mentioned
in a Culpeper County Virginia Will Abstract book 1749-1770
There is A John, Pearson, and William Chapman mentioned in the Culpeper
County, Virginia deed Abstracts 1769-1773
William Chapman listed in Culpeper County Virginia Minute Book 1763-1764
The Estate of Sarah(Sallie) Abbott orphan of Edward Abbott decd to Thomas
Kirtley her guardian....(mentioned cash received of James Abbott (the
complete account) September 18th 1755. This account was exhibited on oath
and ordered to be recorded.
Was exhibited on and approved by the Courts August 19, 1756
Sarah Abbitt Daughter of Edward Abbitt deceased per Contra by cash recd as
part of her father Edward Abbitt's Estate
Excepted per Thomas Kirtley Guardian
August 18, 1757 returned and into court and ordered to be recorded

On motion of Courtney Norman to turn to road that leads to CHESTER GAP at
his plantation, whereupon it is ordered that ( )HICKMAN, EDWIN HICKMAN,
MOREDOCK McKENSIE and JOHN( ) do view the same and report to the
Court the conveniency and inconveniency to the public, the Petioner or any
other person

This day came the Plt, by his Attorney and thereupon came MORDOCK McKENZIE
and undertook for Defendt, in case he be cast in this suet her shall pay the
condemnation of the Court or render his body to Prison in discharge thereof,
or that he, the said MORDOCK McKENZIE will do it for him; And Defendt. saith
he cannot gainsay Plt's action. Therefore it is considered by the Court
that Plt, recover against Defendt. his Debt amounting to 41 pounds, 16
schillings and 6 pence.
September 29, 1780 to be paid up at and interest rate of 5 % at the sum was
cut in half by the courts and agreeable with the merchant owed.

Also I found in August 1763 he gave his tithables to families of his choice
in need and went to court to be accepted

Do you know anything about the parents of Sarah Cole there is one Will with
a Susannah Cole mother of a Sarah Cole witnessed in 16 th day of September
1761. Do you know any of Sarah's siblings? There was no Chapman mentioned
