I would suggest that you might check out the possibility of the Clouds in Chester County, PA for connection to your Culpeper group. I am a Graham descendant (also a Scottish name) and in several records there, found a Jonathan Cloud who was considered a close friend of the family; also connected some Clouds to my Bird family from adjacent New Castle County, Delaware. These were late 1600/early 1700 records.
