Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Beverly family in St. Asaph's
District of Orange County, NC during the colonial period. You are correct
that this district is in present day Alamance County, NC. I have made
some copies from early Orange County, NC lower court records that indicate
Elijah Beverly was the son of John Beverly of Orange County who died
sometime before February of 1765. He had brothers named Isaac, John, and
Jesse, and a sister named Hannah. They were all bound out to local families
shortly after the death of John Beverly.
Early Orange County land records indicate that John Beverly had at least 200
acres of land prior to his death, and there is an inventory of the household
articles included in his estate.

Was Abigail Freeman and Mary Freeman sisters?
Abigail Freeman wife of Joel Ramsey,
Mary Freeman wife of Elijah Beverly, .
Who are the parents of Mary and Abigail Freeman ?
I have found research that states the following , not mine
Freeman , John married Tabitha Hoyter/Hyter/Hiter, thier son

HITER FAMILY
by Paul Heinegg
The Hiter family may have come from King George County, Virginia, where James Hiter was mentioned in the 20 November 1767 will of Anne Patterson [WB 1:286].
1. Thomas Hiter/ Hoyter, born perhaps 1700, was one of the "Chief men of the Chowan Indians" who sold thousands of acres in Chowan County by a total of 13 deeds signed between 9 January 1733 and 22 November 1734 [Chowan DB W-1, 215-216, 237-239, 247-253]. Another member of the tribe, James Bennett, petitioned the General Assembly on 14 March 1745 complaining that Thomas Hoyter and John Robin sold land they had no right to sell [Saunders, Colonial Records of North Carolina, IV:802]. Thomas Hiter's descendants, perhaps grandchildren were
