Hello all:

I have just completed reading the book, Traveling the High Way Home by John
Wright which is a grouping of interviews covering the life and times of Dr.
Ralph Stanley.

Being a huge bluegrass fan, I read every page with great interest. Also
being from Lee County, VA, I have a great interest in the history of the
area.

As part of my Cultural Geography course in my Masters Degree in Education, I
would like to do research and focus on his contributions to the culture of
the southwestern VA area.

If anyone could help by providing insight or genealogical information on Dr.
Stanley, his upbringing, the towns of Clintwood, Coeburn, McClure, etc., or
personal stories about interaction with him, I would be most appreciative.
