Did the Fairfax Militia under Capt. Dennis Ramsay march to Chestnut Hill, PA in 1776 or 1777? If 1776, why that location? Battle of Chestnut Hill not fought until Dec 1777. Did they also march to Germantown, PA in "winter and spring" of 1777? Battle of Germantown fought in Oct 1777. Winter and Spring the army was at Valley Forge. Dates don't agree. Help!
