Look at "This Was Vienna, Virginia", by Constance and Mayo Stuntz. Pp.
76-86 describe two Gunnell family estates, and family history. Other
citations throughout. "Falls Church by Fence and Fireside" by Melvin
Steadman has pp. 328-332 on the Gunnells, and additional shorter
references. "Fairfax County, Virginia: A History", published by the
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors cites the Gunnells among a baker's
dozen of families that were especially prominent in Fairfax County civic
affairs in the early history of the county. These three references can
be found in the Virginia Room of the Fairfax County Regional Library on
Chain Bridge Road, in the Fairfax County Archives in the basement of the
county courts building, and in many genealogical libraries across the
country.
