You can get the latest Adobe Acrobat reader as a free download at
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
The free reader will enable you to read all .pdf files, which is a
compressed format that allows large documents to be transmitted and
stored without taking up so much space.
You may be offered other Adobe products, that would enable you to make
.pdf files from your own documents, and perform other types of file and
photo operations, but you don't need them just to read the files.
