I am looking for the parents of John J. Smith, my Virginia brickwall, who
according to his tombstone was born in Fairfax County, Virginia on June 18,
1800. John married his first wife Margaret Kite on 15 January 1826 in
Rockingham County, Virginia. He married his second wife Nancy Ann Burns on
December 11, 1834. The family then removed to Warren County, Missouri and
ultimately to Bastrop County, Texas where John J. died January 6, 1882 and
was buried in the Smith Cemetery in Red Rock, Bastrop County, Texas.

Anyone have any suggestions on researching a Smith family in Fairfax County
in and around 1800, I would appreciate some guidance.
