Ancestry just recently posted several MD references including the 1776
census for Prince Georges Co. MD. Searching it, I found my William
Miles Nevitt age 27 along with a daughter Margaret age 5, no son William.

Many people have listed William Nevitt (1773 in MD-1886 in Fairfax Co.
VA) as a son from a first marriage. I am skeptical that he is a son of
William Miles Nevitt, but he may be a close relative because he did
marry a granddaughter, Rebecca Lovejoy, of WMN's mother Margaret from
her first marriage. Does anyone have any proof or clues that this
William's father was William Miles Nevitt?

William Miles Nevitt married Priscilla Miles in 1779 and moved to SC
before 1787. My ancestor William Miles Nevitt, Jr was born in 1784 in
MD, and three other boys ( Cornelius, Kellis, and Benjamin) and a girl (
Elizabeth)were born in SC. Margaret, probably named for WMN's mother,
born 1771 in Prince Georges Co. MD is a mystery. She may have married
before they left for SC. Does anyone have a mystery Margaret Nevitt in
their database?
