Looking for information on the following:

Generation 1:

John CRUPPER was born Bet. 1740 - 1750; and died between 1831-1840. He
married twice. First to Chloe CLARK, born before 1744. And secondly, he
married Anne CLARK on December 26, 1788 in Fauquier Co., VA. Both are the
daughters of Benjamin CLARK. Chloe may have died by 1797, when she is
mentioned in her father's will. Someone on this list told that his/her
ancestor, Nathan Mooore, was a witness to Benjamin CLARK's 1794 will, and the
1797 inventory, but I forgot to put his/her name in my file. Both daughters
were listed in the will. John and Chloe had the following children, all born
in VA: John, b. bet. 1765-1768; Molly, born abt. 1770 (m. Henry WEY on
2-15-1790); Jeney, born abt. 1775 (m. John LYNN on 6-9-1795); Chloe, born
abt. 1777 (m. Mahlon MITCHELL on 12-22-1826); Nancy, born abt. 1778; Sarah,
b. abt. 1782 (m. Hugh MCCLANAHAN 2-15-1802); Thomas, born abt. 1784; and
Elijah, born bef. 1786.

Generation 2:

*John CRUPPER (John1) was born Bet. 1765 - 1768 in Fauquier Co., VA. He
married ANN THOMAS December 30, 1788 in Fauquier Co., VA. Ann was born abt.
1769 in Fauquier Co., VA. John CRUPPER was the guardian of Elizabeth Ward,
orphan of Thomas Ward, dec'd 27 Feb. 1826. For $100. John and Ann had the
following children, all born in VA: Eli, born 12/1/1800; Elizabeth, born
1796; Phoebe, born 1789; and Robert, born 1799.

**Nancy CRUPPER (John1) was born 1778 in Fauquier Co., VA, and died 1865 in
Bracken Co., KY. (Source: Ms. Mary South) She married James MCCLANAHAN, JR.
July 22, 1797 in Fauquier Co., VA, son of JAMES MCCLANAHAN, SR. Nancy and
James had the following children: John Henry (m. Sarah Walker); Elizabeth;
Chloe; Catherine; Jeanetta; Mary Ann; Owen T.; Martin A.; and James W.

Generation No. 3

*Eli CRUPPER (John2, John1) was born December 01, 1800 in Fauquier Co., VA. I
have also been told it might possibly have been the year 1797 but I am unsure
of which year. He died December 18, 1864 in Fauquier Co., VA. He married
FRANCES BOSTIYAN October 19, 1822 in Fauquier Co., VA, daughter of ADAM
BOSTEYON and JULIET HOW. She was born August 17, 1797 in Frederick City, VA.
and died October 9, 1857 at the home of Eli Crupper.

Eli was one of the trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Paris, VA.
On Sept. 20, 1855 Eli and others made an "indenture" to buy some land within
Paris for the minister's home. Hector Pearce sold the land to the trustees.
Also, I see that Eli signed as a Justice of the Peace. (source: Susan
Bellinger) Also, Eli was apptd. guardian of James E. and Mary A.M. Dawes,
orphans of Benjamin Dawes, dec'd. (Source: Guardian Bonds of Fauquier County;
p. 192; dated 24 January 1837)

Eli and Frances had the following children, all born in VA: William H., born
abt. 1833 (m. Anna Davis, per 1860 census records); and Lucy Elizabeth, born
2-24-1825 (m. Mandley BROWN on 9-21-1850)

**Robert CRUPPER (John2, John1) was born 1799 in Fauquier Co., VA. He
married Sarah BOSTEYON, born abt. 1796. Sarah and Frances, wife of Eli
CRUPPER, are both daughters of ADAM BOSTEYON and JULIET HOW. (Source for
Robert and descendants: Aileen: ) Robert and Sarah had the
following children: Emily, b. 1832; Florida; Robert Preston, 3-27-1834; D.
R.; John Quincy, June 1828; and Francis, b. 1824.


Generation No. 4

William H. CRUPPER (Eli3, John2, John1) was born 1833 in Fauquier Co., VA.
He married Anna DAVIS, born abt. 1842. She is listed in the 1860 census for
SW Revenue Dist. Fauquier Co. VA Paris Post Office as being of the name
ANNIE. Her daughter, Amanda's death certificate states her mother's names as
Anna.

*William was in Maryland about 1866, as he signed a Baltimore City Political
Petition. (Source: Md. Genealogical Society Bulletin, Vol. 35, No. 1, winter
1994, page 100) I believed that he stayed here had it not been for the fact
his son, Hubert, was born and died in Fauquier Co., VA. William and Anna had
the following children, all born in VA: Amanda, born 5-25-1858; Elouise, born
1859 (per census records); and Hubert, born 1871 and died October 1871 at the
age of 5 weeks. (Source: Dee Ann Buck) There may have been more children as
the informant on Amanda's death certificate is a Charles Crupper.

**Lucy Elizabeth CRUPPER (Eli3, John2, John1) was born February 24, 1825 in
Fauquier Co., VA, and died January 25, 1894 in Fauquier Co., VA. She married
Mandley BROWN September 21, 1850 in Fauquier Co., VA, son of JAMES BROWN and
SUSANNAH TRIPPLET. They were married by E. P. Phelps/Philip. She was buried
in 1894, Ivyhill, Upperville, Fauquier Co, VA.

Lucy and Mandley had the following children, all born in VA: Aruthur Rush, b.
7-9-1851 d. 5-12-1932, Atlanta, GA; Laura Bell, b. August 15, 1853; Luther
Vernon, b. 8-28-1856; Roberta Maude, b. 5-20-1861 d. 1869; Susan Frances, b.
12-31-1862 d. 8-14-1934, Washington, D.C.; Walter Mandley, b. 6-4-1865; and
Lucie Maude, b. 6-2-1868 d. 10-1-1954.

***Robert Preston CRUPPER (Robert3, John2, John1) was born March 27, 1834 in
Virginia. He married Amanda L. SANDERS and secondly Mary WOOD BROWNING.
Robert had 12 kids (don't know who belongs to which wife), all born in KY:
Sarah M. (11-16-1854); Mary L. (3-8or14-1856); Adam B. (1-30-1858); Florida
F. (11-12-1859); Elias P. (11-13-1864); Elizabeth E. (6-11-1864); John T.
(12-4-1866); Mattie L.(2-10-1869); Julia F.(8-25-1871); Maggie (6-22-1888);
Robert P.(5-21-1873); and Willis (5-21-1873) These last two must have been
twins.

Generation No. 5

Amanda E. CRUPPER (William H.4, Eli3, John2, John1) was born 5-25-1858 in
Fauquier Co., VA, and died 9-10-1934 in Cumberland, MD. She married JAMES A
JONES 10-26-1876 in Allegany Co., Maryland. He was born 10-26-1854 and died
4-13-1935, son of Paul W. JONES. Amanda was buried in 1934 in Zion Greenmount
Cemetery, Cumberland, MD. but no stone marks her grave. James is buried at
Trinity Luther Church Cem in Cumberland, MD. Amanda and James had the
following children, all born in MD: Channing Lee, b. 9-5-1886 d. 2-13-1953;
Maude Ella, b. 1888; James Clifford, b. 6-23-1891; Edgar, b. 10-9-1909; and
Lina.


I have more information on Lucy Crupper's lines and Robert Preston's lines.
Also, more on my line if anyone is interested.
