I had very little info on the Reeds, but do have the regimental book for the
54th Va. This is what it had on them.
Amos Reed--Co. D Enlisted 3/24/62 at Abington. Deserted on 12/16/62, rejoined
on 4/18/63. Court martialed on 8/17/63 under general order 115/7. Deserted
again, took oath at Chattanooga Tenn. on 6/20/64. Released north of the Ohio.
Res. of Floyd Co. Dark Hair, grey eyes 5'9'' age 29 farmer
B.W. Reed--Co. D --buried in grave 214 row 5, Rose Hill Cem. Macon Ga.
Charles Henry Reed--Co.I Enl. on 10/1/61 at Floyd Court House Present on
12/31/63. Paid through 3/12/64 Resident of Floyd. Died 1/22/1930 at Camp Lee
Old Soldiers Home, Richmond, Va. age 87. Born at Copper Hill, Va. Buried at
Hollywood Cem. Richmond ,Va. age 17 in 1860 census.
G.V.Reed--Co. I Served two years. Resident of Floyd.
Humphrey Reed--Co.I Enl. on 10/1/61. at Floyd Court House. Sick at Lynchburg,
Ga. on 4/17/63 per 12/31/63 muster roll. On clothing receipt at General
Hospital # 1 at Lynchburg on 5/25/63. Res. of Floyd Co.
