Irene, You can go through Pizzaro to get to the poor house but then you could
go through there to get to St. Louis. In reality you are not too far off in
your directions.
I helped build a barn there in the early 50s and we went on what is now
called the Poor Farm Road I was working for Kyle Reed who had the contract
to build the barn. A Mr. Bower was the caretaker of the farm then. I don't
know if any "poor" people lived there then.
