Read in newspaper (Roanoke Times?) a few years ago where VPI was watching and of
course doing some study on several original chestnut trees in Jefferson National
Forest or near that area of VA. Seems they found some pretty large young trees
and are trying to use a mix taken from other chestnut trees to make them immune
to the blight. What ablessing that would be if our great-grandchildren could see
the big tall chestnut trees.
