Hi Dan, The date you refer to could have been the date the will was written,
which often appears at the beginning of the will. The date it was entered
in the court records will be later, sometimes several years.
The other question about handling everything in a deed, unless there was
other property to dispose of and no executor appointed the deed should take
care of it. It is possible a committee of three was appointed to settle the
estate, usually what happened if someone died intestate. Beverly
