Paul E. Adkins
Paul Everette Adkins, 70, of 2924 Grace St., Winchester, died Monday, May
27, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Adkins was born July 5, 1931, in Barboursville, W.Va., the son of Andrew
Jackson and Eunice Chapman Adkins. He was retired as a salesman with
Solenberger's Hardware and worked part-time at the store.
He completed three years of college and served in the Army with the rank of
sergeant. He attended Macedonia United Methodist Church.
He married Oma Jean Sparks on May 24, 1968, in Winchester.
Surviving with his wife, are a stepdaughter, Patsy J. Brown of Winchester;
three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shenandoah Memorial Park,
with the Rev. Jason Duley officiating. Military honors will be accorded by
VFW Post 2123.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Omps Funeral Home,
South Chapel, Winchester.
Memorials may be made to Paul Adkins Memorial Fund, c/o Omps Funeral Home,
South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester 22602.
