Looking again for information on Francis McCormick, b. 1710, s/o James McCormick and Sarah Welsh, d. 1782 in Frederick Co., Va. Did he marry? Have children?
I am trying to determine if my William I. McCormick was part of Francis' family. William I. was born about 1755 in Orange Co., Va. (now Jefferson Co., WVA), md. Maria Cary Eggleston (parents from Prince Georges Co., Va.), served in Rev. War, performed some sort of military service in Lincoln Co., Ky., migrated to Ky. where he and his wife were killed by Indians (reportedly after 1793). Son, John E. McCormick was born 1788 in Paris, Bourbon Co., Ky. or Pa. and raised by William's brothers.
I have been unsuccessful in fitting William I. into Dr. John I. McCormick's family. Now, trying to see if Francis could be his father.
Any insights would be appreciated.
