Do you have a death date for this person? With such a late death, 1885, an
obituary might say exactly where this person was buried. If you don't have an
approximate date, then you should examine the county death register for that
year. Names are grouped alphabetically by first letter of surname.
Winchester, the county seat, had and has excellent newspaper coverage. An
obituary shouldn't be hard to find with an approximate date of death.

Winchester City Courts? Also is it possible to call the court and at least
have someone look at the will index abt 1885 for a possible Magruder
listing? I'm not a genealogist, cannot travel to Frederick and really don't
know how to go about getting such info. This is not a family search--my
research is for a cemetery preservation project (trying to prove unrecorded
buials).
