You have my interest as well. I had communicated with Cedra, but have since
lost her email address. We are distantly related through the Bosteyan as my
g-g grandmother was a Bosteyan married to John Grigg[s]. She and her
daughter and my g-grandfather James L Carter lived in Clarke county formerly
part of Frederick county. Phoebe Bosteyan was a sister of my
g-g-grandmother.

Cedra: I have a very very tenuous connection for you: my great great
grandfather John Frazier's brother, Hiram Frazier, (b. 3 Mar 1815, most
probably Winchester, VA), married Lucinda Drake, birthdate assumed as
1815-1820, birthplace unknown). Marriage took place in Belmont County, OH on
21 Feb 1839.
>From here back we rely on family lore: Lucinda may have been the daughter
of John Drake and Phoebe Bosteyan, (spelling from Frederick County marriage
records) who married in Frederick County on 11 Mar 1811. A Phoebe Crym
appears in Hiram Frazier's household on both the 1850 and 1860 Belmont
County census. Family lore says her maiden name was Bostoner (could be a
corruption of Bosteyan) and she married a second time to a John Crim/Crym.
The big clinker is that she is shown as 84 on the 1860 census, which would
make her birthdate c. 1776, and that would make her age 35 at marriage in
1811! You will obviously have to take all of this with a grain of salt.
My only claim to any accuracy here is that Hiram Frazier and John Frazier
were sons of Alexander Frazier, (my ggg grandfather) b. 1790, who married
also married a Drake: Mary Drake, in Winchester on 15 Dec 1811. So I'm a
Drake descendent too. Whether John Drake and Mary Drake Frazier were related
I do not know, but it may explain how Lucinda Drake got to Belmont County,
OH and met Hiram Frazier.
There is speculation that Alexander's father was also Alexander. I
found a Frederick County real estate transaction in which Alexander Frazier
was a witness and it was too early for Alexander Jr. to have been a witness.
The other witness in the case was........... Samuel Drake, so we have a
third connection between Fraziers and Drakes in Frederick County, VA.
I hope that this hodgepodge will be of use to you.
Best regards, Kaye Richey
