12/6/1723: Deed from William Coode of SMC, Gent. to John Brown of CC, planter pt. of "Thomas' Choice", 100 ac. (CC Liber L, #2).
-This is the last record of William in Maryland that I have been able to locate and I believe that he left the area and he may have moved to Frederick Co. VA. at some point as that is where his children appear.---We do not have a list of children for William. If he died in Maryland there is a fair chance of finding his will. I believe that he left the area after his brothers property was divided among John Jr’s children and he sold his land in 1723. There is no reason to believe that he did not marry and have children.
Nancy Ann King (Birth abt. 1710) who was married to a John Cood. He apparently died ca 1742. His widow Nancy Ann then married a Nicholas Tripp. Nicholas had a land survey done in 1749 in Frederick Va (next to a smaller tract laid out for Timothy Coode/Cude and Mary/Coode Cude-Charles Broadwater is said to have married into the Coode Family as well. Guy Broadwater, the surveyor, was the son of a Charles Broadwater, whose wife is usually said to have been Elizabeth Semmes-This indicates that Timothy Cude and Mary Cude were the children of Nancy Ann (King) Tripp and her first husband John Coode. If we are correct on their birth dates, Timothy and Mary probably had older brothers and sisters that had already reached maturity. Records indicate that Nicholas married Nancy about 1743. The land records show her with John Coode in 23 Nov 1741 then in Jan 1745 she is a Tripp. Timothy would have been born abt.1740 or before. The Rev. John GERARD Sex: M Birth: ABT. 1720 in Frederick, V!
irginia Death: SEP 1787 in Berkeley Co., Virginia -Marriage 1 Mehitable HAUGHN b: ABT. 1720 in Frederick, Was also in this area at this time. The Gerrard’s and Coode’s were closely related. We have found all four of the King sisters and their spouses. Nancy and her sisters were born in Maryland.
There is a court document that shows their father William King was deceased by 1727
Records indicate that Nicholas married Nancy about 1743. The land records show her with John Coode in 23 Nov 1741 then in 1745 Jan she is a Tripp. Timothy would have been born about 1740 or before. Nicholas Tripp was next found in Orange Co NC. Nicholas Tripp purchased land in Orange County. Nicholas bought 640 acres of land from George Williams of Orange County, North Carolina. This purchase took place after May 2, 1753 which is when George first purchased the land ( Register of Deeds Office of Orange County, North Carolina 1752-1768, 1793 ).In 1759, Nicholas purchased another 100 acres of or on Cane Creek, Orange Co., NC and this land shows up on the 1779 Tax Rolls
