The SPRAGINS Family Papers is a goldmine of original Halifax County records
located at the Virginia Historical Society. For example one section
(Section Sixty-Seven) that I used had 497 items. These papers cover the
period 1753-1881 and there is correspondence, etc. with many Halifax County
residents. I found correspondence from and to Thomas Lanier Spragins, a
Halifax County Lawyer with two families I'm researching - PLEASANTS and
McGEHEE.

If you get to Richmond, check out the Historical Society's records.
