Hello Ron,
I am a descendant of Richard Jones, Sr. and his son, Richard Jr. Richard Sr
had four children according to his will, Richard Jr, Robert, Milicent, and
Lucy. Milicent married a Dennis and Lucy married a Christopher. Notice that
the second son is named Robert. I suspect that he was named Robert for his
grandfather, but that is speculation. Also, in my line of Jones, in nearly
every generation, a son was named Robert. The name Richard also appears some
in later generations.
Regarding the question about the 1000 acres on the Hico River, most the land
in this area was owned by the Byrd family granted to them by the king of
England. They then sold the land off in time, mostly in the 1700s. Maybe
Robert bought the land from the Byrds.
Thanks for your message. I had no idea who Richard Jones, Srs' brothers
might be.
Lynn Laster
